HISTORY
FORMATION OF ALYNTHI ISLAND
Alynthi formed by the coincidence of the spreading boundary of the North American and Eurasian plates and a hotspot or mantle plume – an upsurge of abnormally hot rock in the Earth´s mantle. As the plates moved apart, excessive eruptions of lava constructed volcanoes and filled rift valleys. Subsequent movement rifted these later lava fields, causing long, linear valleys bounded by parallel faults. The divergence of the ridge started in the north about 150 million years ago and 90 million years ago in the south. These movements continue today, accompanied by earthquakes, reactivation of old volcanoes, and creation of new ones.
TERRITORIAL EVOLUTION OF ALYNTHI
The Alynthi was discoved by Viking on July 23, 989. The Viking Age was a period of Scandinavian expansion through trade, colonization and raids. One of the first raids was against Lindisfarne in 793 and is considered the beginning of the Viking Age. This was possible because of the development of the Longship, suitable for travel across the sea, and advanced navigation techniques. Some of the men, and women, who settled Alynthi may have previously been involved in Viking raids but they come to Alynthi as farmers looking to start a new life in a new world. Unlike other regions colonized by the Vikings, Alynthi had no indigenous population.
THE WORLD WARS
During the first world war and the second world war, the Alynthi was not affected. Hard as this is to believe, Alynthi live in one of the most peaceful periods of human history. Alynthi is a neutral country is a state that is neutral towards belligerents in a specific war or holds itself as permanently neutral in all future conflicts. Alynthi is another European country where no one alive today can remember a war being fought within the country's borders.
